MEM13003B-Work safely with industrial chemicals and materials

CRC Industries Training & Support offers a 4 hour Nationally Recognised Chemical and Materials handling training program that is aligned to the Nationally Recognised Unit of Competency MEM13003B Work safely with industrial chemicals and materials. This program is specifically targeted at experienced people working in industry who are utilising chemicals and materials on a daily basis, who wish to improve their knowledge and skills on safe industrial chemical handling.

Skills and knowledge developed include:

  • Selection and wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Identifying appropriate emergency procedures
  • Observing safe working practices when handling chemicals and materials

The four hour session is a “hands on” training and assessment session, with the participant using PPE, handling CRC Products and dealing with simulated incidents, as such Participants should dress in long sleeve shirts, long pants and steel capped boots.

The course will involve reviewing Material Safety Data Sheets, (MSDS), handling CRC products in typical industrial and engineering applications and dealing with simulated incidents.

All training and assessment is conducted in English, and we will use our Participant Training Agreement as a method of determining if you have the required English standard. We will attempt to support you with some assistance with English, such as providing verbal assessments in English, however should your needs for support or assistance exceed our skills, we will refer you to a suitable organisation to assist you further, this may be TAFE local to you or your workplace.

Participants with concerns about their ability to complete the course will need to discuss this with their employer; CRC Industries Training & Support is available to participate in these discussions if required.

This unit of competency is nationally recognised and can only be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that complies with the governing standards of quality control and quality training and assessment.
